SAN JOSE, Calif., February 14, 2008 --- Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI), the industry\'s leading provider of application-optimized, high-performance servers, today announced the release of new 1U and 2U server chassis optimized for 2.5\" SAS and SATA hard drives. The SC113, SC213 and SC216 series server chassis support 8, 16 and 24 hot-swappable 2.5\" SAS/SATA hard drives, respectively, doubling the number of available hard drives per system. All of these chassis feature Supermicro\'s newly designed advanced high-efficiency power supplies, which are more than 90 percent efficient. \"These new optimized chassis solutions, combined with the energy-saving benefits of 2.5\" hard drives and Supermicro\'s high-efficiency power supply technology, can help customers save approximately $400 per system and approximately 50 percent less power per hard drive,\" said Charles Liang, CEO and president of Supermicro. \"In addition to the power savings, the smaller form factor and lower latency of these hard drives can deliver 130 to 150 percent higher performance in the same space.\" ”
