Xingya Electronics was founded in 1958 by Mr. Kuo Bai-yi, then known as Xingya Electric Factory. The factory was located in Taipei, China, and was the first resistor manufacturer in Taiwan, China, supplying products to radio and record player manufacturers. It first produced simple wire-wound resistors, and added carbon film resistors a few years later. In view of the start of domestic television production, it was expected that the demand for resistors would increase significantly. In 1970, it established a joint venture and technical cooperation with Japan Resistor Manufacturing (JRM), invested NT$4 million to build a factory on Xiwei Street, Sanchung City, and changed its name to Xingya Electronics Industrial Co., Ltd., with the English trademark TY-OHM. The product line expanded to include metal film resistors, wound cement resistors, non-flammable resin wound resistors, wound variable resistors, etc., and supplied domestic and foreign TV manufacturers RCA, Tatung, Sony, Taiwan Panasonic, Philips. In line with the trend of China Taiwan Telecommunications Bureau and the United States ITT and GTE jointly investing and setting up factories in Taiwan, our company also cooperated with the American Kidco Company in 1975 to produce precision metal film resistors, moving towards precision products and corporate management.
