How to deal with the situation when the circuit of a designed project needs to be changed for different customers? [Copy link]

Currently, there is a designed project using AD15. I need to delete some functions according to different customer requirements. I would like to ask what the correct approach should be. (The main structure remains unchanged, but the PCB must be resized.) My current approach is: 1. Copy the original project and change the file name to distinguish it. 2. Delete the unwanted part of the circuit diagram and redesign the PCB (I don’t need to re-layout the entire thing, just change some parts). The problem I am facing now is that some components were originally wired but were later removed. When I update to the PCB again, the following error will pop up, saying that some line names cannot be matched, please match them manually. I would like to ask if it will definitely happen or is there a way to avoid it? What is the correct way to deal with it if it happens? There is only one line in the picture that does not correspond, but there are more lines in the actual circuit

This means that we first update the original project to see if there are any problems. If not, we create a project for each customer, delete the unnecessary parts, and save the project.   Details Published on 2018-6-1 15:45

Modification, copy, paste, and deletion are software operation skills. How to customize different circuits, PCB boards, and structure diagrams for each customer is a technical issue. How to organize the schematics, PCB diagrams, and other design files of different customers is a management issue.

It is recommended to create a workspace in the workspace of Altium Designer software. Under the workspace, create a project file for each customer, that is, a PCB project (*.PrjPcb). The project name can be named as the customer name. Then, under each customer's project file, create their own set of schematics, PCB diagrams, library files, etc. In this way, the schematics of each customer can be copied, and different parts can be deleted. When you open the project under the workspace, you can see it at a glance.

So I copied the original project, and then left the parts that different customers wanted and created different folders to distinguish them. But after the PCB is updated again, the above error will appear. My purpose is not to redraw the entire PCB and only make minor adjustments, or if I just update it, will there be major problems in the sample test later? My expression may not be very clear, please forgive me.

After the PCB is updated again, the problem may be the package library file problem. Considering that "I don't want to redraw the entire PCB just to make minor adjustments", a project should be created for each customer. Each project name is the customer name. In each project file, a new schematic diagram and PCB diagram are created, and then copied and pasted. You can do whatever you want, but the premise is to ensure that there is no problem with the update of the so-called "original project".
