Another RISC-V core product from GigaDevice: GD32VW553 series WiFi6 MCU (including datasheet and application notes) [Copy link]

GigaDevice officially launched the world's first RISC-V core-based GD32V series 32-bit general-purpose MCU product GD32V103

It seems that there is no movement in the RISC-V core...

Unexpectedly, the GD32VW553 series dual-mode wireless microcontroller based on the RISC-V core was officially launched . The GD32VW553 series MCU supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE 5.2 wireless connections. Samples and development boards are now available for application, and will be officially mass-produced and supplied in December. I went to the official website to read the relevant information, which feels quite complete. Let me share some information with you first.

I downloaded the specification and took a look, but I didn't find any I2S audio output interface. Maybe the application target does not involve audio products. A hypothesis: if an I2S interface is added, it can be used as an outdoor WiFi broadcast speaker.   Details Published on 2023-10-20 11:31

Does it support Wifi 5GHz? It's rare for a manufacturer to release a Wifi chip, so I'll pay attention to it.

I just checked the data sheet and it shows that the integrated WiFi is 2.4GHz . You can check if there is a possibility of 5GHz.

that includes an RISC-V processor, a single stream IEEE 802.11b/g/n/ax
MAC/baseband/radio, a power amplifier (PA), and a receive low-noise amplifier (LNA). It
is an optimized SoC designed for a broad array of smart devices for Internet of Things
(IoT) applications.”

Indeed, I didn’t see any support for 5GHz, which would reduce the playability.  Details Published on 2023-10-19 17:31

I don’t know what the ecology is like. If the ecology is good, I can learn to use it.
