Introduction

　　Located in Huairou County, Beijing, 70 kilometers away from the urban area. It was first built in the early Ming Dynasty. In 1404, the Ming general Qi Jiguang officially built the pass and stationed troops here. The terrain is mountainous, and the Great Wall follows the terrain and is built on the ridge and the mouth of the valley. There are battlements on both sides. The towers are mostly built on the steep cliffs outside, which is easy to defend and difficult to attack. The enemy towers are dense, and there are three enemy towers in parallel, three Great Walls converge on one floor ("bald tail edge"), and the Great Wall is built on the top of the dangerous mountains ("eagle flying upside down"), which is one of the essences of the Ming Great Wall.

　　The natural environment here is good, with many trees and a vegetation coverage rate of more than 70%. The mountain springs are gurgling, the air is fresh, and the scenery is different in four seasons: in spring, flowers are in full bloom; in summer, the mountains are green; in winter, snow is flying; the most charming is the golden autumn. Not to mention the abundant fruits that bend the branches, the leaves of various colors on the mountain alone constitute a colorful golden autumn picture, which is intoxicating. The new Mutianyu scenic area is located on the north side of the Mutianyu Great Wall. It is dominated by the 10-kilometer-long unrepaired Great Wall. The scenery is beautiful and unique. Famous attractions include "Brushing the Edge", "Turning Over the Sea", "Ladder to Heaven", "Eagle Flying Upside Down", "Heijiang Cave", "Anle Cave", "Chaoyang Cave", "Pearl Spring" and so on.

　　Transportation:

l. Special tourist buses depart from Qianmen every morning and return in the afternoon.

　　2. Take bus No. 916 from Dongzhimen to Huairou and transfer to a direct bus.

　　3. Take the train from Beijing Station to Huairou and transfer to a direct bus.

　　4. You can reach the destination by taking 3/4 train trips

　　5. From April to the end of November, bus No. 6 departs from Xuanwumen (in front of the church) and Dongsishitiao (bus No. 42 station) and goes directly to Mutianyu Scenic Area.

　　Driving: Take Jingshun Road from Sanyuan Bridge to Huairou, and drive northwest for 17 kilometers (there are road signs).

　　Tickets: 21 yuan, students 11 yuan
